The Oklahoma State University (OSU) Ferguson College of Agriculture recognized five second-year students for their academic performance, service, campus involvement and achievements during their freshman year. Tatumn Kennedy, a Meeker High School alum, is one of four recipients of the Freshmen Excellence Award.
Kennedy is a sophomore majoring in biosystems engineering and environmental science from Meeker, Colorado. During her freshman year, Kennedy was a member of the Ferguson College Freshman/Transfer Council and a Freshman Research Scholar. Kennedy currently serves as secretary for the Ferguson College Student Council and is assistant Treasurer for the OSU chapter of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers.
“Coming to a large university was scary, but I knew I had a home and a family in the Ferguson College,” Kennedy said. “It really is great how tight-knit everyone is here, and I’ve had the chance to make personal connections with department heads and the faculty, staff and students within the college and university.”
