RANGELY | This year marks the 10th anniversary of the birth of our four-day-old daughter, Makayla Jane Kottenstette. She was born on March 23, 2010, and passed on March 27, 2010. She has forever changed our lives and in honor of Makayla’s memory, we are continuing an annual blood drive in her name. We usually host this event around the time of her anniversary, but we were unable to make that happen this spring. I hope none of you or your loved ones are ever on the receiving end of a transfusion. However, by donating you never know whose life you might save, or whose family you can provide a little hope for. We couldn’t think of a better way to honor her short life than to give the gift of life to others. We’d like to thank everyone for taking the time to hear our story and if you choose, to donate blood. If donation isn’t for you, thank you for passing the word along. To comply with the Covid-19 social distancing and safety measures, St. Mary’s Blood Center is requiring participants to wear masks and to also reserve a time slot in order to donate. Please visit the following link to reserve a time. https://donor.stmarysbloodcenter.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/8460
With sincere gratitude,
Kathy and Ian Kottenstette
