MEEKER | A tough weekend for lady Cowboy basketball going 1-2 for the weekend, losing both home games. Their record stands at 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the league.
“Both Soroco and Little Snake face guarded Sarah,” commented head coach Jamie Rogers. “She really had to battle for every point she got in those two games.”
Kracht scored 38 points on the weekend, six rebounds, and 10 steals.
The Cowboys lost Thursday’s game to Little Snake 56-67 and Saturday’s game to Soroco 47-60.
“Hailey Knowles had an extremely good all around game in both games,” continued Rogers. “She nearly had a triple double Thursday and did have a double double with points and rebounds against Soroco.”
For the weeknd Knowles had 35 points, 22 rebounds, and 14 steals.
Wrapping up about Little Snake and Soroco, coach Rogers said that, “Ainsley rebounded really well against Soroco and found a rhythm with her shot. In the end both teams had a better shooting percentage than we did”.
Selle finished the weekend adding 15 points, 25 rebounds, and seven steals to her stats.
Friday, in the only away game for the weekend, the Cowboys traveled to Caprock, final score of 45-19, Meeker for the win.
“We came out a little slow against Caprock,” Rogers said. “Midway through the first quarter the girls found their legs and picked up their defense. MyKayla Wille did a great job rebounding. She was getting herself in position.
Wille scored 13 points, had 17 rebounds, and four steals.
The lady Cowboys have just one game this weekend, Thursday at home hosting Rangely, varsity will begin at 6 p.m.
