RANGELY | The lady Panthers had a game change with West Grand on Friday, so only played in Olathe for a league matchup on Saturday. The first quarter started slow but then really let down the intensity in the second quarter, with the Panthers getting outscored 21-9. This would be the difference in the game.
The Panthers ended up falling to the Pirates with the final score of 49-38. Mergelman led in scoring with 11; followed by Wren with seven; Ducey finished with four; Chism, Halcomb and Manchester three apiece; Wagner, LeBleu and Cantrell with two.
“A definite shining spot was we had 17 steals, and also 11 different players contributed in scoring,” said head coach Jimmie Mergelman.
This week is another busy week with three games, and two of them being league games. The lady Panthers will travel to Meeker on Thursday, and host Telluride on Friday and Plateau Valley on Saturday.
