RANGELY — The lady Panthers traveled to Plateau Valley for a league game last Friday.
Once again, the Panthers did not show up ready to play the first half and were down 44-24 at the end of two quarters.
The Pathers came out a different team after half time.
“I thought we did a much better job on defense, especially with the guards,” head coach Jimmie Mergelman said.
The final score was 73-59. Hillary Hayes finished with 22, Erin Watson with 18, Victoria Phelan with eight, Tori Slagle and Audrey Hogan both with four and Rozilynn Thacker finished with three.
The lady Panthers did a great job controlling the boards, with Watson finishing with 12 rebounds and Hayes had 11.
Rangely played its last home league game against North Park the following day.
“We played well, just made a few costly errors down the stretch that ended up costing us the game,” Mergelman said.
The final score was 35-34 North Park. Hayes finished with 12, Hogan with six, Thacker with four, Watson and Phelan with three, Morton, Slagle and Wanstedt each finished with two.
Congratulations to Beth Hairston who won the last cash giveaway ticket and thanks to everyone in the community who bought tickets.
