Due to weather conditions Rangely Lady Panthers were not able to attend the tournament in Byers, however Manila, Utah was able to add us at the last minute so we traveled there instead. The Lady Panthers opened up with Manila for the first game of the season. This was a close game for us and getting out on the court for the first time this year. Panthers lead by two at the half and then would have a big forth quarter closing out the game for a win; 48-42. Miah Wren lead scoring with 15, followed by Ashlynn Ducey with 11, Miley Chism with 8, and Ryann Mergelmanand Annika Cantrell with 7 each. On Saturday the girls played against Intermountain Christian out of Salt Lake. They came out and really got on a roll early. End of the first quarter it was 18-1, and kept rolling from there. All 12 girls were able to contribute to this win and work together. Ducey led scoring with 14, followed by Mergelman with 11, Kaitlyn Cox with 10, Wren 6, Lexi LeBleu and Jade Miller with 4. Cantrell, Emma Smith, Emmeree Wagner all added 2 apiece.
Lady Panthers have a big weekend ahead as they host the Western Slope Winter Classic on Friday and Saturday. They will have 4 varsity games as well as 4 JV/C team games.
