Lady Panthers start league season with wins over Hayden Tigers, Soroco Rams

RANGELY |  The Rangely lady Panthers kicked off their league season with a convincing 44-31 victory over the Hayden Tigers in a home matchup.

Aubrianna Tapia led the charge for the Panthers with a dominant performance, scoring 20 points and grabbing an impressive 17 rebounds. Miah Wren contributed 10 points and showcased her defensive prowess with 6 steals.

Miley Chism added 7 points to the scoreboard, while Emmeree Wagner chipped in 5 points and 4 steals. Ashlynn Ducey rounded out the scoring with 2 points and also contributed significantly to the defensive effort with 6 steals.

The Panthers’ strong defensive performance, highlighted by multiple players contributing to the steal count, proved crucial in securing the victory. This impressive win sets a strong tone for the girls as they continue their league campaign.

The Panthers continued their winning streak with a decisive 69-8 victory over the Soroco Rams on Saturday.

Miah Wren led the offensive charge with 22 points and 5 assists, demonstrating her all-around impact on the game. Aubrianna Tapia contributed 11 points, while Ashlynn Ducey showcased her versatility with 9 points, 6 assists, and 6 steals.

Emmeree Wagner added 8 points to the scoreboard, and Miley Chism chipped in 7. Rachel Elder, Rylee Kenney, and Addison Scott each contributed 4 points to the dominant victory.

The Panthers’ balanced scoring attack and strong defensive pressure proved too much for Soroco to handle. This resounding win further solidifies the Panthers’ position as a top contender in their league.

The Panthers will return home for their next two games. They will host the Meeker Cowboys on Tuesday and the Caprock Hawks on Thursday.
