The lady Panthers had a big game on Friday for league play. The Panthers had earlier dropped a game to the Plateau Valley Cowboys in a non-league matchup by eight points.
“We came out strong and did an excellent job of executing our offense,” said head coach Jimmie Mergelman, adding, “we also knew that controlling the boards would also be a deciding factor in the game. At the end of the first we were up by one and then a tied ball game going into the half. Down the stretch the Panthers were able to pull away and gain a lead and keep it.”
The lady Panthers won by the score of 51-45. Leading the way were Ashlynn Ducey and Ryann Mergelman with 10 each, followed by Annika Cantrell and Miah Wren with eight, Miley Chism with seven, Kastyn Dembowski and Emmeree Wagner each added four. “Our scoring was spread out very evenly which was nice to see,” coach Mergelman added.
The JV girls also picked up another win with the score of 53-30, continuing their streak of 9-0. Aubrianna Tapia led scoring with 16, followed by Addie Scott with nine, Aubrey Kenney and Kaitlyn Cox each scoring six, Lexi LeBleu with five, Emma Smith with four, and Jade Miller, TyLee Fielder and Sidney Lujan each scoring two points.
The Panthers will host Little Snake River on Thursday and North Park on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.
