MEEKER | Interested landowners in Rio Blanco County can now receive assistance restoring drying riparian areas, creeks, and springs, through the White River Alliance using grant funding from the Biophilia Foundation.
The White River Alliance is looking for area landowners who have a spring or riparian area that needs some expert help. A riparian restoration expert will assess identified sites and provide a variety of recommendations to help slow water flow, increase water storage within the system, and improve the site’s condition. White River Alliance will assist with project materials and will help implement the recommended restoration project. Projects will be some form of low-tech process-based restoration measures such as one rock dams or post assisted log structures.
If you are interested in getting some valuable expert consultation to improve critical riparian areas followed with volunteer help, please contact a White River Alliance member at 970-584-8747.
