Butch is a Colorado native and is the only child of Lester A. Grinstead Sr. and Amy Grinstead of Boulder, Colorado.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents Lester and Amy Grinstead, his wife Peggy Nadine Grinstead, daughter Laurie Munger, granddaughter Allyson Grinstead, extended family and friends.
Butch is survived by his son Buddy Grinstead and his wife Tammy Grinstead, son Mike Grinstead and his wife Carol Grinstead, grandchildren Dusty Munger, Jason Munger, Jasmine Grinstead, Cody Grinstead, Brad Grinstead and Kelsey Grinstead.
Great-grandchildren Opal Munger, Isabella Munger Lucille Munger, Catherine Munger, Benjamin Munger Eli Davenport and Brianna Lynn Davenport.
Butch married Peggy Nadine Flowers on Oct. 13, 1960. They moved to Meeker, Colorado, in 1979. Butch loved the great outdoors enjoying camping, fishing, wildlife viewing and hunting camp. Butch had three lifelong friends of 70-plus years: Jay Meiers, Jack Buchanan and Corky Bradfield.
Butch passed in the morning hours on Sept. 1, 2021, at the VA Hospital in Aurora, Colorado, with family members at his side.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the Town Park in Meeker, Colorado.
His sense of humor and friendship will be deeply missed…. “there’s your sign.”
