Letters To The Editor, Opinion

Letter: Bravo, Commissioner Gates

Dear Editor:

Standing up for truth and facts requires a clear head and a good moral foundation to stand on. Thank you so much for casting the dissenting vote concerning the voting machines during the last meeting of the Board of County Commissioners in Rangely.

There is a movement in our nation to question the integrity and fairness of our system to elect our leaders, from local ones all the way up to the President…

Apparently, a defeated former president called the top election official of a state which was lost to his opponent. There is a widely circulated quote by the losing candidate: “What I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than [the 11,779-vote margin of defeat] we have, because we won the state.”

The defeated former president continues to claim that he has won the election but has not delivered any evidence of widespread voter fraud or has won a single lawsuit confirming voter fraud. He has not conceded and has tried to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power.

There are a substantial number of US citizens who claim widespread voter fraud and want to change voting procedures including some of our citizens here in Rio Blanco County.

Our Clerk and Recorder Boots Campbell and all the election judges have not found any voter fraud or irregularities, there is no reason to believe that any votes were stolen. Nevertheless, people are pushing the conspiracy theories and our commissioners Rector and Moyer are right in the middle of it…

Thank you again, Commissioner Gates for standing up for the truth and not bending to the pressure exerted by citizens with no evidence of voter fraud on their side. I totally respect their opinions and their right to express them.  With this letter to the editor, I am expressing my opinion as well.

I will defend my right to vote. With a deep passion for my freedom and the freedom of my fellow citizens I object to the notion of stolen elections. Bring me the evidence of election fraud…show me the facts!

There is zero proof of the voting machines stealing votes. Nevertheless, there is an organized attack to raise serious doubt about our voting process. Our previous president is mobilizing his people to promote unsupported accusations which in the minds of his followers, repeated, turn into facts in their minds. Fortunately, our courts are still impartial and do not fall for unproven accusations.

As free people we believe that all citizens in the United States of America have the right to vote and their vote is counted.

All Americans know very well, if you lose a game you smile at your opponent, shake hands, and move on. We now have Americans who are angry at the opponents and the referee, do not shake hands, do not accept defeat but rather want to change the rules of the game. Numerous democracies were lost after leaders undermined the key tool of democracy, the right to vote. Clerk and Recorder Boots Campbell and Commissioner Gates are my defenders of our democracy, and they stand for freedom for all of us.

Submitted with passion to defend our freedom,

Albert Krueger
