Dear Editor:
As my second term on the Rangely School Board of Directors is coming to an end, I would like to take a moment to thank all of the people in this wonderful community who entrusted me to represent them! I truly believe in, and want to thank all of the people who work, teach, drive, and care about our local school children. I have been serving the town of Rangely since 1987 on one type of board or another. I am asking each adult member of our community to consider serving on a governing board. Your service will help the community to grow stronger and thrive.
Rangely will have vacant positions on the following boards to be filled immediately by appointment or in the November election: RE-4 School Board, two positions, Rangely Jr. College District (CNCC) 2-3 positions, and the Rangely Development Agency 2-3 positions. Nomination Petitions for these board vacancies can be picked up at their respective main offices and are due by the end of the month.
If the timing for you is too soon, consider the board positions we will electing in May: Rangely District Hospital 2-3 positions, Recreation Center two positions, Town Council two positions or the Rangely Fire Board 4-5 positions. The proverb, “Many hands make light of work,” is so true when it comes to a successful community. We need people of all different backgrounds and experiences to run and serve on these governing boards.
