Really enjoyed your recent write-up on Peggy Rector’s involvement in local government.
I was serving as a Routt County Commissioner from the time Peg came in until the tragic accident.
At regional district and state meetings of local and state officials, it was, from my experience, always a better informed and balanced discussion when Peg was there representing Rio Blanco County, in particular, and northwest Colorado, in general. She was always invited to every meeting and became more and more involved at every level by virtue of her curiosity, intelligence and character. She was also a natural at gently moving the good old boy discussion framework to something a little more inclusive. She soon became an important influence on county-driven state legislation. Her participation in the discussion was missed for a long time.
