Dear Editor:
The Rangely Outdoor Museum would like to take this time to extend a huge thank you to everyone who helped make our ice cream social and homemade ice cream contest a huge success. The ones who continue to support our event are: W. C. Striegel, with their donation of $250 that covers the prize money. Nichols for donating all the ice cream we serve and the ice needed for the coolers. The lodging tax panel for donating the $250 to cover all of our advertising and posters. Cheryl Robertson for donating the money to buy our supplies with. We also want to thank “Fiscus and Gravy” for entertaining us. Paul Fortunado and the football kids were a huge help with set up and tear down. I’m sure you all know how much work this can be. We were so grateful. Kenneth Bailey, expert on the oil field and creator of the “Mighty Energy Girl” comics, was here to speak at the OldTimers picnic, our fireside and the ice cream social. We so enjoyed having him here. Also, we could not put on this event without the help of our servers, contestants and judges.
This year’s results of the homemade ice cream contest were:
Third place: Chloe Noel with apple pie won $50.
Second place: Pauline Miller with caramel latte won $75.
First place: Pauline Miller with apple pie won $125.
Pauline made a haul! Remember, now is the time to start practicing those recipes for next year and come join the fun. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
