Letter to the Editor

A successful Hogwarts

Dear Editor,

A Magical Night at Hogwarts was yet again a huge success! Fun had by all with the maze, train ride, carnival games, fun prizes and activities and great food!  It was fun to see new activities and games to play to keep the event fresh and fun!  We had 20 booths/activities and five different non-profit organizations participated for their fundraising opportunities. The Meeker Livestock Judging Team was host to the event for the second year in a row and we would like to thank a few people and organizations for their help and participation!

First, we thank Jessica Hangs, the new fairgrounds manager, for her amazing efforts and non-stop help in making our set-up easy, spending time to help us with anything we needed and her wonderful “how can I help” attitude to ensure we had a successful event! We would like to thank the Keetch family for their kindness, support and huge help with the event both during and with clean-up the next day! We would like to thank all the organizations that helped come up with fun games and activities and participate to earn money for their organization. Thanks to Kris Casey and Westy Murray and the “DC Kids”! Thank you Dessa Watson and Christine Miller and the Four-Leaf Clover 4-H Club! Thank you Ann Franklin and the Meeker International Ecology Program kids! Thank you Church at Meeker and Brett Cox! Thank you to all the coaches, parents, grandparents, cousins and kids of the Meeker Livestock Judging Team who dedicated your hours and hours of time to planning, setting up, hosting and cleaning up the event!  We could not have such a great event without you all!

We also say thank you to you, the public, for attending and supporting the event! 100% of your money goes to hosting the event and to the organizations for their fundraising efforts! Your money supported the church for their activities for kids, it helped the DC kids towards their funds to travel to Washington D.C. and learn about our Capitol and history, it helps the ecology kids towards their travel expenses to go abroad and serve another country and learn great things, it helps the newest 4-H club start to develop funds for all the great things they will do for their club and it helps the Livestock Judging Team to have the opportunity to continue fundraising events and cover entry fees and travel costs to compete in contests!

We love and appreciate our very supportive town of Meeker! Thank you!
