Thanks from MMM
Dear Editor,
The fifth annual Meeker Mustang Makeover was held last Saturday.
The wild horses of the Piceance were the stars of the show with their fantastic trainers this year, and our judges noting that this year’s horses were some of the best ever.
While we will do a full thank you next week detailing the winners and results, with the short time available before press this week, we wanted to extend our sincerest thanks to the many volunteers who turned out to make this year’s event a stunning success. Managed by our volunteer coordinator Cindy Rohde, we had volunteers from all over, as well as the Lions Club with their terrific crew managing the concession stands from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at night, the Piceance Mustang volunteers, and so many more. We will do a full thank you in next week’s paper, detailing the results, and winners, but for now we just wanted to extend our heartfelt thanks to our incredible community, sponsors, volunteers, and trainers for a super fun event this year that went several steps beyond with kids activities, farm animals and even a robbery staged by the White River Museum volunteers of our terrific Lions Club concession stands.
Thank you to all who came out and supported us and continue to believe in this Rio Blanco County based event to find our local and regional gathered wild horses some terrific forever homes.
The Board of Directors of the Meeker Mustang Makeover
