Dear Editor:
Many thanks to the RB Quilters, who recently completed and lovingly donated 10 lap quilts to HopeWest-Meeker to be given to patients upon intake.
The group is passionate about quilting and join weekly to cut, sew and piece their talents together.
“Quilts Because We Care” is the name of their project, and they would like to invite participation from anyone who is interested. Batting and material donations of 100 percent cotton would be greatly appreciated, and can be dropped off at St. James Episcopal Church at Fourth and Park streets in the Richards Hall entrance. A box will be clearly marked just inside the door, and the material will be stored safely until used.
Anyone interested in helping is invited to the meeting on the last Tuesday of the month. You do not have to know how to sew, just lend a hand cutting, ironing or pinning. I can bet there will be laughter and fellowship included in the evening.
If, by chance, you are interested in learning to quilt for the project, there is a wealth of knowledge in the room as well as extra machines to get you started.
The group meets faithfully from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesdays at Kilowatt Korner.
Again, many thanks for the quilts being donated in the spirit of comfort and warmth.
