Relationships beyond town strengthen community at home
Dear Editor:
In a small, rural community, it is fair to ask whether attending tourism conferences, professional trainings and statewide gatherings is the best use of limited resources. Travel costs money, and every community organization has a responsibility to use its funds carefully.
But we should also ask what our community loses when our staff, volunteers and organizational leaders are not part of the larger professional conversation.
