County assessor will not seek re-election

Dear Editor:

Dear Residents and Taxpayers of Rio Blanco County,: I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the residents and taxpayers of Rio Blanco County for the trust and support you have shown me since 1991 while I have served as your County Assessor.  Having grown up in the community and spent my life here, it has been a true privilege to serve the county that has given so much to me and my family.

After careful and thoughtful consideration, I have decided not to seek re-election to the position of County Assessor.  This decision was not made lightly.  Serving the people of Rio Blanco County has been deeply meaningful, both professionally and personally.  I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked in a role I truly loved, one that allowed me to give back to the community where I was raised and where I had the joy of raising my three daughters.

Rio Blanco County’s stunning landscapes are a constant reminder of how special this place is but it is the people who truly define our community.  Throughout my tenure, I have had the opportunity to work alongside dedicated colleagues and public servants and to serve residents who care deeply about this county.  I am proud of the work we have accomplished together and grateful for the relationships and friendships formed along the way.

As I look ahead, I remain fully committed to completing the remainder of my term with the same dedication and care that has guided my service over the years.  I will support the leaders, as they continue the important work of serving this community and building on the strengths that make Rio Blanco County such a remarkable place.

Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and trust over the years.  It has been an honor to serve you.  I will always be thankful for the opportunity to call this extraordinary place home.

With sincere gratitude,

Renae Neilson

Thank you for a special Christmas gift

Dear Editor:

I want to say thank you to my secret Christmas elf that read my letter to Santa in the paper and made my Christmas extra special. I have really enjoyed the plush cat blanket and soft cuddly cat stuffy. I had two cats and the cats on the blanket look a lot like the one I lost in November and the other like my gray tabby that I still have.

I greatly appreciate the extra effort you put into making my Christmas special.

Thanks again,

Elizabeth Reidinger

Thanks from the Rio Blanco Stitchers

Dear Editor:

The Rio Blanco Stitchers would like to thank all of the Veterans for their service to our community and country.  We were honored to present 15 quilts to our local veterans in appreciation for their service at the Veterans Day Celebration at Barone Middle School.

We would like to applaud the students for a job well done and hope you can continue this tradition for many years to come. A special thanks to LD Grove for his generous contribution to our group to help with supplies for this endeavor.

Thank you,

Rio Blanco Stitchers
