LETTERS TO THE EDITOR – July 11th, 2024

Thanks to helpers, staff and
volunteers of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society

Dear Editor:

The Rio Blanco County Historical Society would like to send out a huge thank you to all of the folks who showed up, participated, and/or volunteered to help with the many events the society was involved with.

Thank you to Scott Reed, Family Automotive, and the Brickey Family for helping with the Buick. A huge thank you to the Anson Family for traveling from Craig at the last moment to pull the stagecoach.

Thank you to the people who played roles in the Bank Robbery which is always an adventure. Extra thanks to Steve Wix for his coordination year after year and Jay Sullivan for his delivery of the script.

Thank you to Doc Seklecki for holding the museum together while the rest of us were running around keeping things going. Thank you to Kevyn Mack for leading the Milk Creek Battlefield Tour and to everyone who took the time to go out there, hear the story, and see the amazing Milk Creek Memorial Park, which was the vision of the late Joe Sullivan and completed by his son Jay.

Thank you to Streamline Realty for allowing us to use their beautiful, restored (and air conditioned) building to sell root beer floats. Last but not least, thank you to Sparky, Nancy and Stacy for serving hundreds of root beer floats in just a few hours. We are so blessed to have this great little community.

Range Call Committee thanks

everyone for volunteering

Dear Editor:

The Range Call Board would like to send out our biggest thanks to everyone that came out to attend our 4th of July Celebration this year! It was a great success, and we are counting big numbers of attendees!

A special thanks to Hank Crawford and his crew for all your hard work, as well as the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds for hosting us, the ERBM Rec Center for lending us their equipment, to the Meeker Fire Department for the amazing fireworks display, and all our awesome volunteers and clean up crews; we also want to thank our amazing sponsors for making this event possible, we could not do it without all your support.

We love this community and we strive to make each year’s event the best it can be, and we couldn’t do it without all of you. We hope everyone enjoyed the events this year, and we will be getting right to work planning for next year!

If you have any interest in joining our committee, volunteering, sponsoring, or donating, please always feel free to contact us on our facebook page or by email at [email protected]

Thank you again to everyone for such a great weekend of events!
