Appreciation for the Meeker Fire Department
Dear Editor,
I would like to deeply and sincerely thank the Meeker Fire Department for their financial assistance in the replacement of the fire detection system in the White River Museum. As you can see when walking through the museum, you can tell that the community was founded on the premise of people taking care of people. When the Meeker Fire Department informed us that they would be able to help with the replacement which was nearly 10 years out of date, we were overjoyed. The fact that members of the fire department felt that our precious collection was worth keeping safe meant a lot. What a great demonstration of that historic premise. We were hesitant to make a public acknowledgement because we weren’t sure that they wanted everyone to know, but after receiving the go-ahead, here it is. The Rio Blanco County Historical Society, and the entire community wants the Meeker Fire Department to know that once again, you ARE OUR HEROES!
