Special to the HT
MEEKER | The Meeker Livestock Judging team traveled to Loveland this past weekend to compete in The Showtimes Blackout 10 Livestock Judging Contest. We had to split into two junior teams. One team consisted of Brodee Kilduff, Annabeth Moody, Milo Brennan, and Copen Smith. Klayton Carroll was teamed up with Western Rio Blanco Judging team member, Arabella Black for the second team. Then Whitney Carroll competed individually in the novice division. There were a total of 66 juniors making a total of 23 teams.
The kids were scored in several divisions: beef, sheep and goat, swine, placings, reasons, questions, and overall. They are typically recognized when ranking top 10. Individually Brodee placed sixth in Placings and 10th Overall. Annabeth placed 17th overall. Milo placed sixth in sheep and goat and 25th overall. Copen placed 62nd overall. Their team placed ninth in beef, second in sheep and goat, eighth in swine, ninth in questions, 11th in reasons, which gave them second High Junior Team Overall. This earned them a team banner and recognition at the contest. Klayton placed 50th overall. He and Arabella as a team respectively placed 18th overall. Whitney had a great first contest placing third High Individual Novice earning her first livestock judging banner! Kari Brennan was the coach for this trip and commends the team on their hard work and dedication paying off. Congratulations on earning all your accolades!
