RBC | Livestock Judging teams from both sides of the county competed at The Rumble In The Rockies Livestock Judging Contest in La Plata County this past weekend. From Meeker, Klayton Carroll, Hattie Brennan and Elijah Rundberg traveled to the contest and from Rangely it was Ally Black and Maylee Kenney. They evaluated live animals and the had the opportunity to compete in a carcass contest/workshop. It was a great learning opportunity and a great way for the kids to help make the connection between the live animal and where exactly the meat comes from on the carcass, as well as, the importance of why good feed and care of the animal produces quality meat for the consumer.
Hattie Brennan from the Meeker Livestock Judging team placed 8th Overall Individual Junior in Cattle and 2nd in the Junior Carcass Contest! Maylee Kenney from the Western Rio Blanco County Judging team placed High Individual in Novice Reasons!
