High school graduation comes round at least once every year, and when it does, the celebration of this event out in the community is so important, no matter where or when it happens. Friends and families who helped the student stay on track to achieve a lifelong goal will make extra efforts to be in attendance up at the high school stadium or auditorium. If they have participated in any aspect of one’s child’ life: work, school, or club, they do not have to be invited, there are often arrangements made for an overflow crowd. Of course, there are so many other community members who make sure to try and give recognition to each graduate.
It does not matter how long it takes for each of us to finish our high school educations. The key to moving forward and ensuring lifelong success is to continue looking outward and recognizing the importance of seeing the big picture, even while viewing the smaller picture daily. The goal to achieving those bigger goals is not to lean back each time an opportunity presents itself, instead move forward. Taking a few small steps toward a dream or goal is essential.
When life does intervene, through no fault of one’s own, and those dreams fade from view, opportunities to continue learning present themselves daily. So while we celebrate our friend’s or family member’s hard work, consider making some special efforts to show them you care. One’s physical presence may be part of it, but showing up in life again and again is even more important. Congrats, graduates!
