Approaching Thanksgiving soon, one is sure to find plenty of warm-hearted, old-movies that emphasize the importance of getting together with the family for the holidays. The way things are going though, many folks will take advantage of the earliest sales that advertisers have been running since September. They are sure to encourage everyone to get up from the table and go shopping together the following day. So far, Black Friday deals have been up and running for more than a month or so, so it could mean a new kind of family get-together will be in the works- shopping online around the table after the main meal is finished.
The logistics would not be too hard to arrange, as most folks already have their phones handy. It also seems that more and more people use their phones everywhere and are big believers in using their phones throughout their daily meals. One might as well alter the traditional menu as well. Forget the importance of a home-cooked meal. Take-out Turkey Day specials could become the newest fad. What better way to celebrate together?
Spending the entire day with family for a traditional celebration will soon be pushed aside for all the Early Black Friday offerings. The Thanksgiving holiday plans never used to include Christmas until the next day. In fact, the onslaught of all of the combined holiday deals and relentless advertising ploys have gotten more intense after the pandemic. It was understandable, as businesses continued to falter for a few more years. The Thanksgivings of old disappeared for a while as people were confined to their homes. Luckily everyone still looks forward once again to that one day of a shared meal, watching football or old movie, or playing games with the kids. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
