MEEKER I Local business owner Avis Loshbaugh has been appointed to replace Pat Hooker on the board of directors of Pioneers Medical Center.
Hooker, who is the administrator for the county, resigned his position on the hospital board.
“Just too many things going here at the county for me to be able to dedicate the time I felt the hospital board deserves,” Hooker said.
Loshbaugh is owner of Avis’ Village Floral.
“Tom Allen, (board) president appointed a committee to review applications from interested parties,” hospital spokeswoman Margie Joy said. “The vacancy was posted in the paper for two weeks, and we received three applications. At the September board meeting the board, upon the recommendation of the committee, appointed Avis Loshbaugh. She will be seated at our October meeting.”
New hospital CEO Ken Harman said, “We have a wonderful board. They are really committed to this community and making sure the hospital offers the service and quality product the people of Meeker and Rio Blanco County deserve.”
