Mary Agnes “Maggie” Fields of Meeker passed away, peacefully surrounded by family, on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs after a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Maggie’s love of adventure, nature, and zest for life was always shared with the love of her life, Greg Papez, and the couple were often accompanied by members of their families. Whether it was enjoying the wildflowers of Spring in the Rockies, fishing in high country rivers and lakes, or hunting with Greg, Maggie always cherished her time outdoors with friends and family. Maggie especially loved her movie dates hanging out with her daughter, Jessica, cuddled up all night on the couch together.
She is survived and remembered by numerous friends and family within the community; her dedicated life partner, Greg Papez, of Meeker; her daughter, Jessica Fields, and Jessica’s husband, Logan Guy, of Denver; her sisters: Michele Tracy, Mary Patricia Jorczak, and Jacqueline DeCoursey of California, sister Jeanette Johnson of Montrose, Colorado, brothers Christopher and William DeCoursey of California, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We will forever miss Maggie’s beautiful smile, her gentle loving touch and manner, and genuine love of life and adventure. Rest in peace, after a well lived life, until we meet again.
