Meeker archers compete and win at national tournament

MEEKER | Six Meeker archers recently traveled to Helena, Montana, to compete at the National S3DA Western Outdoor Nationals archery tournaments.

They competed throughout four days consisting of two days of Outdoor Target and two days of 3D shooting up to 50 meters. There were about 150 archers from all over the nation in attendance. A Shooter of the Year buckle was also at stake for those who shot at Indoor and Outdoor nationals.

Weather was not their friend, as they dealt with very windy conditions and some rain. Their hard work, preparedness, coaching and mentoring showed as most of them returned home with some bling.

Their team, the Arrow Busters of Western Colorado, brought home about half of the team awards and 10 shooter of the year or runner-up awards. Those who placed in the top three in the young adult class receive scholarship opportunities from numerous colleges throughout the nation.
