MEEKER | The Meeker Chamber of Commerce board and staff are welcoming new board members.

The Chamber held an election to fill two new open board positions, and those have been filled by Andrea Gianinetti and Chance Walker. Additionally, to fill a retiring board member position, Lori Smith has been selected to the Chamber Board.

Andrea Gianinetti will fill a term from September 2020-September 2023. Andrea and her husband Nick both grew up in Meeker and started Gianinetti’s Powersports Rentals in 2019. Andrea is also president of the Board of Directors for New Eden Pregnancy Care Services. She teaches piano lessons, is a volunteer youth sports coach, and a substitute teacher for Meeker School District. Andrea says, “I love all that our community has to offer. At the Chamber, I hope to support local businesses to thrive, rather than just survive!”

Lori Smith will fill a board term from September 2020 – September 2022. Lori is the Chief Financial Officer for Pioneers Medical Center. She and her husband Derek moved to Meeker 1-1/2 years ago, which has brought them closer to their grandchildren and has given them the opportunity to continue living in a small community. “Meeker has been very welcoming, and being involved in the community is important. Being a part of the PMC team has given me the opportunity to not only represent the hospital but also be a part of the community. Serving on the board would be an opportunity to help the community continue to develop and grow. ”

Chance Walker will fill a board term from September 2020-September 2022. Chance has lived in Meeker for 14 years, less a short stint on a ranch near Rifle. He transitioned careers from corporate operations to working for his family’s local small business last year, and it was the best decision he has ever made. He works with his family who owns tje Rio Blanco Herald Times and Son’s, Inc., a service company, and says, “Small businesses are the lifeblood of a community. I’ve watched the ups and downs of Meeker’s business economy since living here at a young age. I want to be part of stabilizing and developing Meeker to ensure a bright future for my children and future generations”.

Board member Marie Hooks has been appointed as the Board President and says “I am excited for the opportunity to be a president of the Meeker Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and for the board to work together to serve the Meeker Community through our vision, mission, and goals.” Cheryl Houser is the Vice President and Sabine Murray is the Treasurer.
