MEEKER | The Blanco Ranger District and Meeker High School agricultural department are hosting a cooperative community clean-up day following this year’s World Migratory Bird Day theme: “Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution.” MHS student Nick Massey has organized this event as part of his SAE fulfillment through the MHS agricultural program. Volunteers will meet at the Forest Service parking lot at 9 a.m. on June 1 and groups will head out to different areas around town. Trash bags and gloves provided. All trash collected will be weighed, data sheets filled out and sent to the Environment for the Americas organization that will include our statistics as part of a larger world effort. Contact the Blanco Ranger District for more information at 970-878-4039.
