MEEKER | The lady Cowboy varsity volleyball team won two league matches last week and they will play another league match Friday, when the Hotchkiss Bulldogs come to Meeker. Meeker defeated the West Grand Mustangs in Kremmling last week before hosting and defeating the Plateau Valley Cowboys for its Homecoming match.
Meeker played and lost a non-league match against Rio Blanco County rival Rangely, in five games
Meeker beat West Grand 25-15, 25-17 and 25-19 last Thursday, then beat Plateau Valley 25-13, 25-19 and 25-9.
Junior Krissie Luce had nine kills against the Mustangs and led her team with 16 against Plateau Valley. Luce’s twin sister Krissie, had 15 digs against West Grand and received 12 serves, while classmate Lila Klinglesmith finished with 14 digs against West Grand, 11 against Plateau Valley, she also successfully received 12 serves and served three aces in her Homecoming match. Sophomore Addie Joy and Kassie Luce both had three aces against Plateau Valley and Meeker senior Avery Watt served three aces against West Grand.
Sophomore Caleigh Morlan finished with seven kills in Kremmling, while Julia Dinwiddie had four and eight against Plateau Valley. Junior Syndie Main finished with three kills against West Grand and four against Plateau Valley.
Meeker’s overall current record is 9-2 and they will host the Hotchkiss Bulldogs, who are currently 7-5 overall. Games start at 4 p.m.
