Meeker High School to celebrate Homecoming next week

MEEKER | The parade is at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 with home volleyball and football games following that night. Boys’ golf competes at the regional tournament on Monday in Delta, cross country runs in Delta on Friday and softball plays at home on Saturday.

The homecoming parade marshal is selected by the Meeker High School student council each year and this year’s marshal has been chosen for exemplary community involvement and support for Meeker High School athletics and activities. This year, the student council executive committee selected JC Watt to be the 2024 homecoming parade marshall.

Born and raised in Meeker, Watt has been involved in our community for many years. He has coached the Meeker wrestling program for 13 years and led our team to win the state championship this past season. As a member of the Meeker Golf board, he has kept our local golf course running in great condition, especially for our MHS boys and girls golf teams. The Watt family has owned Watts Ranch Market for 69 years, and in honor of his resignation, we would like to acknowledge all of the services Watt has provided for our community. From supplying lunch to many of our students every day, to being a great coach and role model, we are very grateful for his endless support for our school.
