Twenty-three days till Christmas. Remember, the spirit of the season is one of love and mercy and peace, not shop till you drop. Are you done with your holiday shopping? Are your cards mailed? Presents wrapped? Decorations complete? Yeah, right.
Besides Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa, December is filled with many special days. Favorites include National Cookie Day, Dec. 4; International Ninja Day, Dec. 5; and Cotton Candy Day, Dec. 7.
Dec. 7 is also the anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, an act of aggression by the Japanese that triggered the U.S to enter World War II. It would seem every generation has at least one date that stands out in its collective memory, whether it was Pearl Harbor or the assassination of President Kennedy or 9/11.
