Meeker Moto Mayhem…

The ups and downs, slick surfaces and heavy sand banks didn’t seem to bother Holt Pelloni of Meeker as he took part in Saturday’s Meeker Moto Mayhem inaugural dirt bike races at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. Lots of riders from young kids to adults took part in the event, which may become part of a Western Slope circuit that is headquartered in Montrose and includes races in Montrose, Delta, Hotchkiss, Rifle and Eagle.
The leader of the pack in this case was Porter Hossack, 12, of Meeker at the Moto Mayhem inaugural dirt-bike races held Saturday at the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds in Meeker. The full-day event began at 10 a.m. and continued late into the evening. The format was an enduro-style race more common in Europe.
