MEEKER | Last July (2019), Meeker Moving Forward began a community-wide discussion about what we love and cherish about Meeker, as well as the type of place we want our town to be in the future. These conversations resulted in a set of shared community values, a vision and goals that provide local leaders with guidance when making important decisions about Meeker’s future.
Now, Meeker Moving Forward invites you to the “Design Workshop.” The Design Workshop will be a multi-day event that builds on the values, vision and goals that emerged from previous community engagement efforts. The workshop will enable stakeholder groups and the public to: review and provide feedback on the draft values, vision, goals, and framework plan for Meeker; continue offering input on where future growth and different types of development (i.e. residential, commercial, industrial, etc.) should be located; share specific ideas for how to achieve the community’s aspirations for Meeker; and, review and provide feedback on design concepts that illustrate the type of place that Meeker could be in the future. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the town and its consultants will be hosting the workshop virtually. The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 21 through Friday, April 24.
As part of the virtual Design Workshop, an online community meeting will be hosted on the Town of Meeker’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/townofmeeker/) via Facebook Live. This event will enable the community to review, ask questions about and provide feedback on the outcomes from the first three days of the workshop. The online meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. Your continued participation is critical to the success of Meeker Moving Forward so you are encouraged to pick up takeout from your favorite local restaurant and join us Thursday.
