Meeker Police Department makes arrest in child sexual assault and exploitation case

PRESS RELEASE

MEEKER | A press release issued late Friday, June 27, from the Meeker Police Department announced the arrest of Gypsy Josh Soul, formerly known as Joshua David Solt, a 35-year-old male and former local business owner, on Friday, June 27 for multiple charges, including sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child, enticement of a child, and internet luring of a child, following an investigation by the Meeker Police Department.

The investigation began in March 2025 after a concerned citizen reported discovering disturbing

materials linked to the suspect. Based on this information, the Meeker Police Department launched a comprehensive investigation. As the case progressed, it became evident that there may be multiple victims, and the crimes may have occurred across several jurisdictions. Relevant law enforcement agencies in those areas were notified.

Given the sensitive nature of this case, particularly concerning minors who may be reluctant to come forward due to fear, embarrassment, or the mistaken belief that they are to blame, the Meeker Police Department wants to make it clear: your voice matters. All statements, especially those from vulnerable individuals, are taken seriously. We are firmly committed to supporting victims and their families throughout this process.

We are deeply appreciative of the individuals who came forward. Your courage strengthens our

community, and your actions play a critical role in assisting law enforcement to protect and support one another. Meeker Police Department encourages anyone with information related to Gypsy Josh Soul, this case, or any similar incidents, to come forward.
