The RBC-Meeker Livestock Judging Team traveled to Sterling, Colorado this past weekend for the Logan County Livestock Judging Contest. Pictured are Matthew Willey, Dylan Rundberg, Eli Rundberg, Klayton Carroll, Hattie Brennan, 4-H leader/judging coordinator Kari Brennan and behind the camera, Coach Clint Shults.
Dylan, Eli, Klayton and Hattie made up the junior team to represent Rio Blanco County and although they did not get their names called at this contest, they did really good, learned a ton, but most of all, they had fun. Matthew Willey is our only senior member for Rio Blanco County. He had to combine with other counties to make a team and they were recognized as a team in a few categories. The Sr. High Team took third place in swine, fifth place in goat, and seventh overall.
The team travels to Kiowa in two weeks and Montrose in three weeks for their final two regular season judging contests.
What a great first contest for this young man and the Rio Blanco County 4-H Meat Judging team. Congratulations to Liam Olson for winning High Individual in the 4-H division at the LeFlore FFA Meats Judging Contest. Your hard work, perseverance and dedication to learning a new skill certainly showed.
