The Meeker Summer Rodeo Series is happy to announce the 6th year of the weekly summer rodeos.
The summer of 2021 was a great year for the Summer Rodeo, with a record number of spectators who came on a weekly basis to enjoy the rodeo, 10 weeks in a row!
The Rodeo Season will again have a minimum of 10 Thursday night rodeos starting June 9.
With your generous donations, the summer series will continue to offer an evening of fun for young and old alike.
The 2021 Meeker Summer Rodeo series season, due to the generosity of our rodeo supporters like you, was a free spectator event. Our attendees were able to come and enjoy every Thursday, all summer, without any gate fees. Additionally, once again through charitable donations, we were able to offer $500 in additional prize money for the weekly bull riding event. This additional prize money brought in record numbers of riders including PBR accredited riders.
Our supporter base includes 30 businesses and individual donors which came together to offer the northwest corner of Colorado this outstanding, weekly outdoor event. As well as monetary donations, other local businesses also donated gift certificates to offer at our weekly raffles — up to six prizes nightly for all 10 rodeos. Our concession stand was again supported by the local Meeker Lions Club and the Barone Junior High School eighth-grade class. The 2021 sales were near $10,000, helping fund the eighth-grade yearly trip to Washington, D.C.
