MEEKER | The Meeker Trail System Expansion Project is now underway to create two new trails that connect to the existing trails off of the Phillip and Dorcas Jensen/China Wall trail system.
The Hidden Valley Trail (2.5 miles) and Lion Canyon Trail (2.08) construction broke ground this week. Trail users should be aware that construction contractor personnel will be assessing that trail at the beginning and end of each workday with approved motorized equipment. Hikers and bikers are also asked to respect the construction equipment on the trails and refrain from using the new trails until they are completed later this fall. ERBM will release more information as these dates approach.
Also, please come out and support National Public Lands Day on Sept. 22 and help complete some volunteer work on the trails. More details on this opportunity can be found on the Fall Line-Up in mailboxes mid-August.
