Meeker’s newest tiny home resort and RV park opens its gates this fall

MEEKER | Four Points Funding, a private real estate investment firm and Opportunity Zone Fund with offices in Steamboat Springs and Denver, announced today the future opening of Trail & Hitch RV Park and Tiny Home Hotel, Meeker. The former park, Wilderness Rendezvous, which has remained vacant for nearly a decade, will undergo renovation and re-brand into a Tiny Home Resort and RV Park. Four Points Funding will initially manage the park while transitioning management to a local operator.

“We have an unparalleled setting and location for the site. Through this extensive renovation, we have re-imagined the property into a destination RV Park and Tiny Home resort,” said Amanda Montgomery, Partner at Four Points Funding. “Our focus is to ensure a great guest experience by providing flexibility of bookings, state-of-the-art pay as you go RV hookups, and overall a unique and fun Tiny Home experience.”

“Meeker is an Opportunity Zone which brings potential benefits to the area. This is a program designed to facilitate growth and development in rural communities across the country by providing investors with favorable tax incentives. The program enables our fund, Four Points Funding, to bridge capital from urban areas and invest in rural communities like Meeker in a meaningful way,” Montgomery explained.

“In addition to being an Opportunity Zone, Meeker is pioneering the future economic model for rural Colorado towns. Meeker is showing the utmost hospitality to economic diversification and growth: They are now online with fiber internet accommodating the necessities of a remote workforce, they are investing in infrastructure in the form of new parks and community centers, and they’re additionally utilizing the beautiful land around them through the responsible development of hiking and mountain bike trails. For these reasons, among others, we’ve chosen to invest in Meeker,” Montgomery said. “Utilizing the tax benefits of the Opportunity Zone, which provide favorable capital gains tax abatements for investors, it’s a new era for investment in Colorado’s rural communities. Trail & Hitch is one step in Four Points Funding’s mission to continuing leading this new rural investment model.”

The 19.97 acre park is set along the north side of County Road 8. The park is physically situated adjacent to 250 miles of Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) trails, 57 acres of groomed hiking and mountain bike trails, and seasonal world-class elk and deer hunting. The Flat Tops Wilderness Area and White River National Forest are only 30 miles away each. The addition of 4 Tiny Homes, available for nightly and short-term rental, will provide guests with a unique experience and will be available for individual and group rentals. In addition, Trail & Hitch will feature 30 full-service RV hookups available for short and medium term rental.

“We are excited to welcome guests to experience the Trail & Hitch following renovation,” said Makala Barton, Economic Development Coordinator for Rio Blanco County. “As outdoor recreation and hospitality continues to be a major driver of the local economy, we welcome Trail & Hitch as an innovative approach to meeting current and future demand for accommodation.”

Trail & Hitch plans to open October 2019.
