Bob Carden, currently the oldest member of the Meeker chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 5843, was tasked with the ceremonial tossing of the memorial wreath into the White River on Memorial Day, May 26. The traditional ceremony at the 5th St. Bridge was followed by a trek to Highland Cemetery to lay a wreath on the veterans’ memorial.
