MEEKER | Tom Allen, Don Moyer, Kathy Warren and Kathleen (Sullivan) Kelley are encouraging all MHS 2023 classmates to attend the Class of 1973 50-year reunion. Allen has reserved back rooms at the Smoking River Brewery for an evening gathering starting July 1 at 5 p.m. The gathering will resume at Paintbrush Park at the Eastern Rio Blanco Recreation Center July 2 at 12 p.m. for a potluck picnic. A tour of the new Meeker High School will follow the picnic.
“We want this to be casual and relaxed. And we want everybody who was ever part of our class to be there. Just because someone moved or didn’t graduate with us, doesn’t mean we don’t want to see you. We certainly do!” Allen said.
Kelley encouraged those who cannot attend to post videos, pictures and stories of where they are, and what they are doing on the group Facebook page MHS Class of 1973. “We know a lot of people can’t come, but we still want to know about you. This reunion is about sharing and reconnecting.”
Organizers also want classmates and family members of classmates to contact them about those members who have passed. “We would like to put together a memorial board so that we can pay proper respect to those who aren’t with us any longer. Every person had an important impact on our lives and we want to honor their memories.”
