Two long-term employees made the decision to begin a new chapter in their lives. Darrell (above) and Liz Kendall (below) retired from the Rio Blanco County Road & Bridge Department on June 25, 2020. Darrell worked for the department for 28-½ years, and Liz for almost 19. Both began as laborers and truck drivers, then moved up to grader operators. Darrell was a lead operator from 2001 to 2018 when he became the Meeker District Supervisor. Liz has been taking care of the Mesa grader route for 13 years.
The Road & Bridge Department want to thank Darrell and Liz for their years of service. These two will be missed. Their level of dedication maintaining our county roads to a high standard year after year, and their tireless response to road emergencies all hours of the day and night is much appreciated. Job well done!
