Update: 6:20 p.m. July 13: According to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office there are eight reports of fires in the county at this time.

Update 2:35 p.m. July 13: The Fawn Creek Fire is at 185 acres and the Stewart Fire is at 106 acres. Hot shot crews are en route to aid first responders.

Two new fires have been reported in Rio Blanco County. The Kissinger Fire is west of Meeker in the Black Mountain Wilderness Study Area on Bureau of Land Management land and was reported Sunday.
Additional fires were reported Monday in the Stewart Gulch and Fawn Creek areas. Crews on scene at the Stewart fire were evaluating structure protection.
Most of the Western Slope is under a red flag warning today and tomorrow with gusty winds, low humidity and dry fuels.
