OHV poker run this saturday
RBC | The Wagon Wheel OHV Club’s annual poker run is set for this Saturday, July 16. Meet at Lake Avery and follow the posted signs. Card sales start at Station 1 at 9 a.m and end at 11 a.m., and are to be submitted to station 5 by 3 p.m. (must be 18 to purchase). $25 per hand, $10 each additional card. Free concert at The TANK July 24
RANGELY | New York-based composer/performer Andy Clausen presents “Heart of Tones – Solo Trombone at The TANK” on Sunday, July 24 at 7 p.m. Playing works commissioned especially for the TANK, with others spanning five centuries of musical history, from medieval chant, to shape note hymns, to Ellington ballads, and sonic meditations from Pauline Oliveros. A founding member of genre-bending brass quartet The Westerlies, Andy has performed and recorded with Fleet Foxes, Nico Muhly, Gabriel Kahane, Caroline Shaw, John Zorn, Bill Frisell and others. Historical society quarterly meeting
RBC | You are cordially invited to attend the July 2022 Quarterly Meeting of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society. The meeting will begin at 1p.m. on July 24 at the Old West Heritage Culture Center at 517 Park Ave. Please bring your favorite pot luck dish to share. In honor of Pioneer Day (July 24), we will be sharing our best recipes in a Silent Auction Bake Sale and a time for “Show and Tell.” If you have pictures or an artifact that you would like to show as well as any pioneer stories you would like to share, bring them with you!
August book club
MEEKER | The book club will be choosing biographies individually to read. We will discuss the books on Monday, August 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Meeker Public Library. All are welcome to join in the fun.
