Coram coming to Meeker
RBC | State Senator Don Coram, Montrose is a Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District. He is a challenger to the incumbent Rep. Lauren Boebert, Rifle.
Don Coram will be in Meeker this Saturday, May 21, 2022, from 12-1 p.m. There will be a meet and greet downstairs at the Hugus Building, 594 Main St. in Meeker. Please come and meet Don Coram. Beverages and snacks will be provided.
Piceance Mustangs work day and BBQ
MEEKER | Piceance Mustangs is having a work day and BBQ on the Piceance range on May 21. The work day will start at 10 a.m. We will meet at the Yellow Creek Corrals. BBQ will be at 1 p.m., Piceance Mustangs will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and beverages. Tours of the range will be available after the BBQ. Come meet our beautiful Piceance Mustangs. Directions: take Hwy. 64 to County Road 5, turn right on County Road 20, bear right at the intersection onto County Road 122 and take the first left into the Yellow Creek Corrals. Please bring a side dish to share. Hope to see you there
Primary election affiliation
RBC | To vote on local races in the primary, you either need to be registered as a Republican or an unaffiliated voter. If you are registered as a Democrat, Libertarian, or other party, you have until Monday, May 23 to change your affiliation to Republican or unaffiliated at the Rio Blanco County Clerk and Recorder’s office in order to cast a ballot on the primary ticket, which will determine the outcome of the District 1 commissioner and sheriff’s race
PAC meeting May 26
RBC | The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) will be meeting on Thursday, May 26 at the Weiss Conference Room on the Rangely CNCC Campus. The meeting will run from 6:00 to 8 p.m.
The PAC will review the Phase II Report, the Reach Reports, hear the results from the four public meetings, and discuss priorities for the Phase III Scope of Work.
VWF announcements
MEEKER | The VFW and Auxiliary have a few announcements:
- Community dinners at the VFW will resume in the fall.
- Poppies will be available at the Meeker Post Office on Friday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Memorial Day ceremonies will be held on Monday, May 30 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fifth Street bridge and at Highland Cemetery immediately following (approximately 10 a.m.)
June book club
MEEKER | The book club will be reading “Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant” by Anne Tyler. We will discuss the book on Monday, June 13 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun
