News Notes: Nov. 4, 2021

Water PAC meeting

MEEKER | The Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) will be meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 9 at the Rio Blanco Fire Protection Building in Meeker from 6-8 p.m. A virtual link or call-in number will be provided upon request. Please email [email protected] to request a link for the virtual meeting. The PAC will hear a presentation from the Colorado Water Conservation Board, BLM, CPW, and the Colorado Water Trust on the proposed instream flows on the White River. The purpose of the meeting is to understand the program and begin to understand the potential impacts the program could have on the White River. The PAC will also hear the report from the four public input meetings and consider the recommendations made by the public.


Annual veterans lunch at BMS

MEEKER | Veterans and their families are invited to lunch at Barone Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 11 by the BMS Student Council. Lunch will be provided by the Meeker Chamber of Commerce. Lunch at 11:30 a.m. will be followed by a flag ceremony at approximately 12:20 p.m. and then student council members will interview veterans in front of the student body.

DWR to host meeting on draft measurement rules

RBC | The Division of Water Resources (DWR) will conduct a Measurement Rules Stakeholders Meeting virtually by Zoom on Nov. 15, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. The purpose of this meeting will be to present an update of the draft Measurement Rules for Water Division 6 and gather initial feedback and comment. DWR conducted in-person stakeholder meetings during October 2021 in Steamboat Springs, Oak Creek, Rangely, Meeker, Walden and Craig. DWR invites participants from those meetings, as well as those who have not been to a meeting, to attend. The latest draft of the Division 6 Measurement Rules and Fact Sheet can be viewed at DWR’s Division 6 Measurement Rulemaking website: https://bit.ly/3wi7hjC
