4-H happenings
RBC | National 4-H Week is Oct. 3–8. Thank you to our leaders who volunteer their time and the members who dedicated themselves. You make our program great! The 4-H Open House for Meeker will be Oct. 14, 6-8 p.m., New Exhibit Hall, RBC Fairgrounds. Free popcorn and balloons! Come see what 4-H is all about! Hogwarts will be Oct. 30, 5–9 p.m., green 4-H Building, food and games. Free STEM activities for the kids in the old and new exhibit halls.
Library book club
MEEKER | The Meeker Library book club will be reading “The Blue Zones of Happiness” by Dan Buettner. We will discuss the book on Monday, October 11th at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun.
Division of Water Resources meetings
RBC | Please join the Division of Water Resources (DWR) for public meetings in Rangely on Oct. 11 at CNCC from 6-8 p.m. or Oct. 12 at the Meeker Fire Hall from 6-8 p.m. as the DWR presents information and gather input on the upcoming Measurement Rules rulemaking. The purpose of the rulemaking is to develop consistent, stakeholder-driven standards for the implementation of DWR’s statutory authority for requiring measurement devices for water diversion and storage.For updates and other information on our Measurement Rules rulemaking see: dwr.colorado.gov.
Suicide prevention and awareness training
MEEKER | Learn about QPR: Question, Persuade and Refer–the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide–at a free training event Tuesday, Oct. 19 from 4 to 5 p.m. at Meeker Recreation Center, 101 Ute Road. Just as people trained in CPR at the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Candy donations for Wing parade
MEEKER | The Walbridge Wing is seeking donations of candy for the outdoor costume parade in the Wing courtyard on Oct. 30 from 2–3 p.m. Candy donations can be dropped off at the Wing between now and Oct. 30. Weather permitting, come and join us.
