Happy Herald Day!
(with a twist)
During the early days of the pandemic, when a lot of things felt uncertain, we invested in the best copier we could find. The idea was simple: if we ever lost access to the printing press (then in Grand Junction, now in Montrose), we’d still have a way to get information into the community’s hands.
Over the years, that copier has been useful for all kinds of projects, but we’ve never needed it for the newspaper itself. Until this week.
In the comedy of errors that is the newspaper business, we managed a memorable one. We were feeling pretty good after getting pages to the printer with an hour to spare on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday — unfortunately too late to fix it at the press — we discovered the paper contained two Page 2s and no Page 4.

Print readers will find a separately inserted Page 4 in this week’s edition thanks to that pandemic purchased copier, ensuring you don’t miss the letters to the editor and other content.
As always, thank you for supporting this community institution. Your advertising, subscriptions and donations to The Lyttle Project help make local news coverage possible week after week, and we appreciate every one of you.

PS: Don’t forget Father’s Day this Sunday!
