No surprise: Moisture levels up

Special to the Herald Times

RBC — The second snow survey of the winter was conducted Feb. 29 at the four snow survey sites in the upper White River Basin. The White River snow pack water equivalent (snow moisture) is 22 percent above last year at this time.
Basin wide, the White River snow pack is 8 percent above the 30-year average snow moisture for this point in the year. If any snowmobile owners would like to come along and see how these measurements are made or be a backup surveyor contact the NRCS office at 878-5628.
